Laminate Flooring Installation

Tips for Installing Laminate Flooring

Laminate flooring is one of the easiest flooring products to install, thanks to modern manufacturing innovation. Often, the process doesn’t even require adhesive.

If you’re an aspiring DIY home renovator, laminate flooring installation can be a great way to get started. If you’d rather leave the process to the professionals, you’ll find that laminate installation is one of the most affordable options when compared to more complex and specialized jobs such as hardwood or tile.

What to expect

When you’re purchasing your laminate, be sure to do a little research about the product you’re buying. Your retailer may have recommendations for local installers if they don’t provide their own. At Znet Flooring, we’re just a call, email or chat box away – we’re happy to provide advice for finding an installation professional to help you with your job!

Before installation

Once you’ve got an appointment scheduled, make sure you know what then installers expect of you. Often, you may need to prep the space by removing old flooring and large furniture, or by making repairs to your subfloor.

Check to see if your product requires an acclimation period – some laminate may need to sit in the room in which it’s going to be installed to properly adjust to the room’s climate for a few days. You should also inspect for defects and review any instructions that came with your order.

During & After

Arrange to let your installers into the work area – they may need access to a power source and other resources. The team you hire will come equipped with all the needed tools and supplies needed to successfully install your new laminate, and the process should take less than one work day, depending on the size and scope of your project.
